Fellow Photographer & biz mentor, Kelly Goode of Capture Photography, and I put together a sweet inspiration shoot this past weekend. Kelly was the art director & DIY princess extraordinaire of the shoot. We had amazing contributions from Champagne NW, Le cookie Monkey, Form and Flora and Face Body Beauty.
The gowns were by Claire La Faye, a local designer, and were absolutely gorgeous. The jewelry was by Grayling and Studio Space was provided by Splash NW. Oh, and our models Patty & Chris were Amazing!!!
Here are a few little snippets til we get the whole sha-bang edited.

Awesome Wedding Forum For LGBT Couples!!
So we've been plastering it all over Facebook, but if you haven't seen it yet, our little photo venture Swoon Imagery has recently been accepted as a vendor on an amazing Blog called So You're Engayged.
It's a great resource for LGBT couples to get connected with wedding vendors that are gender neutral, and actively support the LGBT community.

We are so excited and proud to be a part of this great site, and can only hope that through it we can be a part of many memorable marriages to come!!

Solabee Flowers and Botanicals
Yesterday Anna and I attended a business seminar at the Chamber of Commerce, and one of the major topics was on how huge social media is for advertising. When we left definitely had a sense that we've been neglecting our blog, so in the spirit of advertising I thought I would plug a new local florist.
We visited Solabee Flowers and Botanicals in the Kenton neighborhood in North Portland yesterday before the conference. Unfortunately the owners were not in, but their flowers we're awesome. I have heard that they do amazing things with succulents. So if you want an alternative to your typical flowers for your big day you might want to check them out. Hopefully we'll be able to touch base with these talented ladies soon, but I thought I'd pass their name along to anyone looking for something absolutely beautiful for their day.
I also couldn't help, but buy something for myself while I was there, and they had all of these really neat airplant arrangements, so here is the little beauty I came home with.

Swoon Goes Undercover at the Portland Wedding Show
So since we are a new business we look to more established businesses for the latest trends in the wedding industry, and we thought that checking out the Portland Wedding Show would be a great place to start.
It was definitely sensory over load, but worth the $9.00 ticket. We met with wedding venues, florists, wedding planners, and of course checked out our much more expensive competition, which was a lot of fun, and so interesting to see what Portland had to offer in each category.
We would definitely recommend it to future couples, but be sure to check out all your options; participating in the show has a hefty price tag, and many great vendors can't afford to participate.(like us!!)

Betsy & Sean Sneak Peek
This past weekend, Anna & I had the pleasure of shooting Betsy & Sean's New Year's Day Wedding. Talk about a great way to start off the New Year. The day was filled with anticipation and excitement, as Betsy & Sean got ready to walk down the isle. The ceremony was beautiful, and the pews were overflowing with family and friends. The reception was no snore either.
We had such a great time shooting it that we couldn't wait to get home and start editing; so here is a quick sneak peek to tide you over til we get the whole sha-bang finished in a couple weeks. Congratulations Betsy & Sean!!!

Katie & Sean
The other week I had the pleasure of being an additional shooter for lovely lady, Kelly Goode, of Capture Photography. We photographed Katie and Sean who had an amazing fall themed wedding, and possibly best wedding food ever...Waffles. Katie looked absolutely gorgeous, and had a wedding full of hand made details, family, friends and love.
Here are a few snippets from the evening.
